Arvenseeli
The Arvenseeli are three deep blue mountain lakes above the Bernese community of Kandersteg. The little lakes are located on the Sunnbüel plateau, a few hundred metres north of the Valais cantonal border at an altitude of 1888 metres above sea level. The Arveseeli offer crystal-clear, deep-blue water and are surrounded by lush alpine meadows and mighty firs (or Swiss stone pines).
The Arvenseelein are fed by meltwater. Depending on the amount of snow, the lakes carry water for a shorter or longer period of time in spring or early summer. From summer onwards, the stone pine lakes are then dried out. At the back of the lake there is a nice and well-equipped fireplace with benches and firewood.
Hikes lead from the Sunnbüel mountain station in about half an hour to the Caribbean-style Arvenseeli.
