Grazing cows, glorious flowers and craggy rocks behind: a powerful natural spectacle lies hidden in the middle of this primeval mountain world: the glacier water has carved an artwork out of rock here. Grottoes and fantastic polished rocks alternate with waterfalls and gurgling eddies. A well-maintained path leads you through this natural spectacle. The gorge tour takes around 45 minutes and can be ideally combined with one of the many hikes in the Reichenbach Valley, a stop at a restaurant, a visit to the famous Reichenbach Falls or the historic sawmill on Schwarzwaldalp.

The gorge is part of the Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch UNESCO World Heritage Site and lies on the wild, romantic PostBus route from Meiringen to Grindelwald. You can also access the gorge by car from Meiringen.
