Permanent exhibitions on Niklaus von Flüe and Dorothee Wyss
The permanent exhibitions paint a multifaceted portrait of the mystic, politician and popular saint from the 15th century. Based on historical facts, it follows in the footsteps of Niklaus von Flüe and his wife Dorothee right up to the present day. Sound and image productions, music and film excerpts, room installations and historical objects offer a varied introduction to the life and work of these influential personalities.

Temporary exhibition "On the road together. Giuseppe Haas-Triverio and M. C. Escher"
Giuseppe Haas-Triverio, the most important Obwalden artist of his time, has almost been forgotten. He lived and worked in Rome for almost three decades. Fascinated by the Mediterranean landscape, he undertook various study trips through Italy and Corsica between 1929 and 1935 - always accompanied by his Dutch artist friend M. C. Escher. "On the road together" is the first exhibition to show a wide selection of drawings, woodcuts and lithographs from these trips.
