Reichenbachfälle: a must for Sherlock Holmes fans
The thundering waters of the Reichenbach Falls showed the bold engineers the way when they laid the rails for the factory ropeway in 1899. Eye to eye with the wild stream and the mighty 120-metre-high Reichenbach Falls, the Nostalgia Railway rises up in its 24-seater wooden carriage, faithfully recreated to the original. Not far from the mountain station, three viewing terraces offer a breathtaking view of the waterfall and Haslital. This excursion is almost a must for Sherlock Holmes fans. Here the famous detective challenged his arch-enemy Professor Moriaty to battle - the fierce melee ended with a fall into the depths. Into exactly this waterfall!
